Dyeing Fiber
Round Barn Fiber offers dyeing services.
We are able to dye raw fiber or yarn.
We require all dye orders to be washed here. We do this because any contaminants in the fiber (grease, soap, fabric softener, etc.) will change the way the fiber takes dye. Fiber that is already washed will be rewashed.
Like our other services, our minimum charge for dyeing is for two pounds per individual order. We have a per pound price, and a set-up fee for each color. See our price list here.
We use several brands of acid dyes in our dyeing process.
Though we cannot guarantee an exact match with your desired color (because every fiber takes color differently, and there are many variables in the dyeing process), nevertheless, if you provide a sample (such as a paint color sample), we can strive to get as close as possible!
